What is Ramadhan?


Objective : To Share Information about the beautiful month of ramadhan

The word Ramadan comes from the Arabic root ramida or ar-ramad, which means scorching heat or dryness. Ramadhan is a month in Islam with hidden benefits and hikmah have been offered to all Muslim in blessings, upon entering Rejab and Syaaban,This sacred month in islam that witnesses some important situation such as the reveal of the glorious Al-Quran and the victory of the Muslim in the Badar al-Kubra battle which is the history. In Ramadhan,the beautiful month also teaches us how to self-discipline, self control, righteousness and forgiveness and also from eating and drinking and practices continence.

 Ramadhan become an eye-opener and self-experience for the less fortunate and the poor because to let us feel how does it feel to be in the shoes of the poor and make us realize how important their needs.  This is an annual observance as Ramadhan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The duration of Ramadhan lasts for 29–30 days based on the sights of the crescent moon, according to numerous biographical accounts compiled in Hadiths. 

It is a time of worship and contemplation and to fulfil God's commands and grow one's soul. A time to strengthen family and community ties, and be on our best behaviour.  More over the routine in Ramadhan, the individual have to practices fasting as it is”Wajib” (obligatory) for adult Muslims, except those who are ill, travelling or going through menstrual bleeding.
